Mrs. Bellin ger was accompanied as far as Portland by Paul Hauser. o The Oregon Taxi company has mov ed from 457 State to 371 State. 1-12 Dr. W. B. Morse, with offices in the Bank of Commerce, is the largest individual contrib utor to the Capital Journal's tobacco fund for the soldier boys in Prance. The .doctor handed-n $20 today with the stipulation that . the tobacco paid for goes to Company M and in forwarding the next remittance this requesF will be made. The machine was left standing in the street without an apparent owner and was ta ken in charge by the local orricers and r stored. It was the property of Portland parties. How to Address Soldiers In France In response to many inquiries as to how to address letters or packages to the boys in Company M the depart ment provides that the name and rank of the person as Captain, sergeant or private be written in full followed by the address which is "l(12nd In fantry, care Postmaster New York City, New York." The New York postoffice is the clearing house for all mail intended for our troops in Europe and for that matter for all troops, for once a letter reaches the New York of fice for anyone in the army, no matter where he is stationed it will be for warded to him. The government has adopted this plan as it is about the only one that can be satisfactorily carried out owing to the shifting of the troops. At any time a letter ad dressed as above will reach its destina tion, barring submarines and accidents. A large body of local Foresters are planning on going to Albany tomorrow light for a visit with the foresters' :c.dgo of that city. It is expected that twenty or more will make the trip. o Mrs. Bert Victor leaves tomorrow for San Autonio, Texas, where she will join her husband who is stationed there in the aviation training school. o Drs.
