Livcsley News Notes (Capital Journal Special Service) " Livesley, Dec. 12. Last Wednesday evening a Red Cross "entertainment took place' iu the school house. A thor- Weekly Report of Union Stock Yards North Portland, Or., Dec. 12. Labor troubles continue to exist in some rmck ing house sections and have affected the market at the 'Portland Union Stock Yards. Local packers and small Kiiiers have made every possible ef fort to take care uf the shipments with out attempting a break in the market iu any department. Consequently, we have shown an extremely light receipt for the opening market this week, indeed, they were not sufficient to meet the de mand of small killers. In the cattle department, steers got away at a little advance in prices over quotations and over prevailing prices at the close of last week, while cows sold just steady with hist weeks quotations. All other classes continue steady. Fin ished steers just at this time would meet with a hearty demand and would pass the Bcales at $10.00-$10.25, but they would have to be good. The hog department in contrast to the opening market for last week, show ed an extremely light .shipment, all of wmcn was taKeu over readily at steady prices. The sheep department showed no re ceipts, and very little demand seemed to be evident in that department. This sea. son is standing squarely between tho product of the pasturo and the feed lot, wnen practically au grass shipments have been put on the market, aud prac tically nothing is yet ready for the market from the feed lots, as is usual in that state of affairs. Both shipments and quality are considerably "off col or". The demand continues extremely active, however, for stock and feeder Bi-nesia Stops Stomach Trouble Or Money Back INSTANT BELIEF GUARANTEED Roeently a writer on the treatment of Btomach troubles, who ha claimed that practically all stomach trouble is aue to acidity, decided to put his theo ry to. the test.
