Hamilton (United Press Staff Correspondent) New York. Nov. 28. Unless Jess Wil lard consents soon to meet Fred Fulton in a bout for the world's heavyweight title, Fulton will have to follow Wil lard'g example and become a pacifist fist wielder. Fulton today holds an unquestioned victory over Gunboat Smith, always considore among the most dangerous heavyweights. He has beaten the heav ies all down the line, including Carl Morris. There isn't a good big man in his way now for a chance at the title. He has been willing to slug his way to prominence. Willard has stated there is no public demand for his appearance. He has as serted George Carpentier is the logical man for him to meet. In that Willard appears to be wrong, for Fulton seems to be the logical man and the public senis ready for the bout. Fulton Was Superior. Minneapolis, Minn., Nov. 28. The heavier weight, longer reach and great er height of Fred Fulton proved too strong a combination for Gunboat Smith Iu the seventh round of his ten round battle with Fulton, last night, Smith's manager asked that the bout be stop ped to save the gunner from more pun ishment. Smith wanted to continue his pathetic effort. MIDDLE WEST ARMY AND NAVY CONTEST Chicago, Nov. 28. LIKE WOMAN (Continued from Page One.) to accompany her to The Box to get the boy. Iglebart refused, because the matter was too delicate for him to interfere. Mrs. De Saullcs was paler than ever. Her sister Amnlia stepped to the stancj and Mrs. Pe Saulles eyed her closely. Amalia declared she remembered n j'all Mrs. De Saulles had when a child in Chile. "I was plaving with her, chasing her," said Miss Errazuriz, "when she hit her head and became unconscious. She was in bed -six weeks delirious. Then she complained of head pains, said she had a hole in her head and could keep up with the other children in playing games " Miss Errazuriz also declared Do Saul les, shortly after marrying Bianca, de manded that his mother-in-law give him a huge estate in ( hile and run charge of the Errazuriz family affairs. Mrs. De Saulles' mental condition wrs aggravated by a motor accident in Chili? in which her head was cut open, the witness asserted. "Wheu visiting mv sister in Ameri ca, I heard little Jack tell his mother that De Saulles was taking him places where drinks were sold," said Miss Errazuriz. "The child acted naughty and said he was told to act that way when with his mother." Susanne Monteau, the French maid who accompanied Mrs. De Saulles to The Box on the night of the shooting, was next called- Miss Monteau said Mrs. De Saulles fired three shots while De Saulles was facing her. . "He looked like he was about to jump at her," she said. "He extended his "arm as if to strike her."
