The Central American treaties now affecting these countries were signed in ISMS and expire this year. Beaming with satisfaction over having gained a I'acine coast basic price for this year's wheat crop at $2.05, the Oregon- vvasmngton delegation of grain grow ers is leaving the capital. "We were after the whole loaf. Wo get half, far more recognition than it seemed we were likely to get, so we feel well satisfied with our effort," said C. E. Spence, master of the Ore gon state grange and member of the committee. "Had we made no effort we would have had no relief," Under the arrangement made the basic price of $2.05 per bnshel for built wneat will apply at romand, Taconia and Seattle as common terminals for northwest wheat- Some who attended the conference think a bettor price might have resulted if the committee had been more aggressive at the final conference with Food Administrator houses in the usual way, where Houser will buy at prices fixed. Having had his hands tied up to this time, because he lacked terminal prices, Houser is gratified by the turn of affairs. He declares the Pacific northwest has especial cause for rejoic ing over elimination of delays in mak ing payment, which would have result ed from transpomog wneat to inieago. Houser figures the average saving on differential will be around 10 eents, netting $1.95 to $1-97 per bushel to the farmer. Taxing all factors into ac count, some grain growers say the sav ins will range between five and 10 cents. Snipping Board Promises Tonnage A favorable turn in the situation came when receipt of word from the shipping board that it will be able to supply tonnage for export wheat. Hoover was indefinite as to shipping board promises, and indicated that' se curing tonnage is still a gamble, but the authentic report is that the ship ping board has stated it foresees no difficulty in supplying the ships need ed for northwest wheat surplus. When Hoover suggested the price of $2.05 at the conclusion of a bearish ad: dress, the growers accepted it without further controversy. Hoover said the shipping board had offered "tempora ry hope" for tonnage to carry the surplus and the price named would give a gambling chance of taking wheat from the Pacific coast by the front door, the ocean, against freight rates to the back door, Chicago. Houser Flans Immediate Action Max Houser, before leaving for Port land after a long conference with Hoover and Barnes, said he expects to have everything ready to buy grain at Portland the latter part or the wceli. Mortimer Mitchell. "It is well known that the surface skin is constantly dying, falling off in imperceptible particles, except in some diseased conditions, when tho same appear Use dandruff. But the par ticles do not all drop off immediately they die, being held for a while by the live skin. "To have the dermatologlcal surgeon peel off the entire outer skin at ono time is a painful and expensive opera tion. The same result is obtained by applying ordinary mercolized wax, as you "would cold cream, allowing this to remain on over night, then taking it off with warm water. One ounce usu ally suffices. The process is both pain less and inexpensive. The wax, which is procurable at your drug store, hast ens the natural Bhedding process. It gradually absorbs tho dead and half head skin, revealing the new, healthy, youthful looking skin, underneath." Pendleton, Or., Sept. 24. Assuring a good winter wheat crop and putting millions of acres of range in ideal con dition for stock, rains throughout the Inland Empire within tho last 3fi hours have benefited the farmers and stock growers to the extent of $5,000, 000, it was estimated today.
