.patriotic training through physical
exercise is attracting the attention of
an tne school districts of the first class
in Oregon. There is a feeling among
iuc jmnig men ui me naieni nigh school
that since tho last legislature passed a
law permitting this training, and that
credits should be given for the work,
that there should be some action to:
wards organizing and taking advantage
of the government's offer. This propo
sition will probably come before the
school board at an early date. Among
the best educators in the country, there
is a feeling that the young meii would
be greatly benefitted by some regular
system of training along patriotic lines.
Any work done along these lines is sub
ject to tho direction, supervision and
inspection of tho governor of the state.
Tho law recently passed provides for
the training in the high schools of the
state, with tho provision that the
schools furnish, the instructors.
