And Salem lost in Silverton last night on the same vote, the Salem negative team go ing down before the Silverton affirm ative. In the debates on the proposed health Insurance law, the Salem neg ative is represented by John Scofield, Maynard Sawyer and Phillip Elliott, while the affirmative side of the debate was represented by Dewey Probst and Kenneth Powers. Miss Buth Paxson, of Pittsburg, Pa., has been appointed successor of Miss Flora M. Case as school librarian. The position carries with it a salary of $1,000 a year and one month's vacation. Miss Puxsou is an Oregonian, born at Central Point, and was the personal choice of Miss Case for her successor, following the election of Miss Case as librarian uf the city library.
