Three junior class plays which were
coached by the versatile professor were
exceptionally well itged. The massive
impressiveness and executive staging of
Alfred Noycs masterpiece, "Sher
wood," ot the Grand last Msy, was the
deligh of the lover of the beautiful and
the artistic. Another product of the
rhetoric department which I'rof. Mac
Murray built up, was the publication of
"Boc-Craeft," a magazine of high liter
ary merit, it is understood that Prof.
MacMurray litis assembled sufficient
material for the next edition which was

When questioned as to a possible suc
cessor, Dr. (leorge H. Alden, dean of the
liberal nrts college, said that Dr. Doney
Was leaving this morning for Seattle to
interview a man from the University of
Washington, who was particularly quali
fied for the needs of the department. As
Professor MacMurray had 105 students
in one of his freshmen classes, the task
of securing a worthy successor is im
portant and Dr. Doney is leaving no
steps unturned in the needs of the institution.

The potato market is showing consid
erable strength lately due to l good
shipping demand from the cast and also
the better chance now of getting cars
for shipment. Quotations and prices
paid today and yesterday range from

price, the spuds must be of the finest
quality. The potato crop in the valley is
estimated at doubleMhe amount of last
year and the price has been about 50 per
cent higher.
