the vacation with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. M. J. Olson, of this city.
Mis. S. A. Kemp, of Portland, spent

came to Woodburn Sunday to spend the

Miss Fern l'arr, who is teaching do
mestic science at Dallas, came home to
spend t he Christinas holidays with her
parents.
Gilbert Cole came home from Portland
this week, where he is attending school.
Bev. and Mrs. G-ittens are visiting
their daughter, Mrs. W. ,T. Mishler.
Mrs. Austin Wolfard and dauhrcr,
Agnes, left for their home in Wyoming
'last week.
"Bill Bender's Christmas," given in
the high school auditorium Friday even
ing, was a great success. A large crowd
attended and all enjoyed it immensely.
The cast of characters was: Aunt .Tune,
Minnie Settlemiex; Susan, her niece,
Elizabeth Van Gordon; Tom, her
nephew, Dewey Bitney; Father Time,
Edith Hawley;' Sarah Leo, Edith Haw
ley; Bill Bender, Doyle Johnson; Alice.
Jessie Hicks; Jack, Elburn Sims; mes
senger boy, Lee Sims; chorus of high
school students.
Bill Bender, tramp and umbrejln

house, whom he has never seen. He
finds his father's picture, when he re
tuprns to the house to steal, discovers
this is his aunt 's house and while the
ehorus sings he drops on his knees, his
reformation complete.
Mrs. McQuade, of Portland, came to
Woodburn to take care of her husband,
who is ill.
Miss Olive Bassett, teacher at West
Stayton, and Miss Alice Prell were in
town Saturday.
