People of the great Willamette valley, we have been here with you five months, and have stood the acid test. Every word, eveTy statement, and every
premise that we have mads during our short business career in this city has been lived up to Id the last syllable. We shall follow the same policy, the
same business principles until we close our doors for good, until our last good-bye to you. If we tell you that this is going to be one of the greatest and
mightiest closing out sales that you have ever witnessed, positively a SACRIFICE, positively a cutting and slashing of prices that is amazing, you may go
as far as your imagination will carry you, then come and be sure of not being disappointed. We say that it is not only the duty of every man and woman
to come to this saie, but that one would actually be committing a crime against himself and family by neglecting the opportunity. Think of the timeliness
of this great sale, coming as it does before Christmas and with three or four months of winter weather ahead of you. Think of it ! Think of the
saving opportunities and then you will realize the GREAT IMPORTANCE OF THIS SALE TO YOU. ,

THE REASON
We know that many people will ask why we have so sudden
ly decided to quit business. And it is a fair question at that.
For we do like your beautiful city and its people. We have all
the faith in its future and everybody knows tha we have en
joyed the best trade in the Willamette Valley. It is with pard
onable pride that we make the above statement and sincerely
regret that we have to leave our many friends and customers
so suddenly. "But we are forced to take this step; first," not
only on account of the continuous rise in prices on merchandise,
which is appalling in itself, but because of the scarcity of it.
It is actually hard to procure any kind of merchandise now,
especially good merchandise. Under these conditions we feel
that we cannot serve our customers right. Second, there are
reasons that are more or less personal and cannot be discussed
in print, but which forces us to get out and quit in the shortest
time possible. And Believe Us, Watch Our Prices Do It.
Your opportunity to buy Hosiery and Underwear for the entire
family for less than present wholesale cost. It will pay you
well to lay in a supply for immediate as well as future' use.
