with apoplexy Monday.
Minn Henrietta Denny of Sublimity
passed away Monday after a stroke of
paralysis Saturday. She was a native
daughter of Marion county having been
bora near Sublimity 37 years ago. Miss
Denny was a graduate of U. of O. and
tnught school in this county for fifteen
years after her graduation. She also
lived in Salem for a time. The funeral
services will be held nt the) Methodist
Kpiseopal church today (Wednesday)
Rev. K. B. Lockhnrt officiating.
Mrs. I'ratt, a teacher" here for the
Vast five years, now has her mother.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick, of Aumsville, living
with her. The two women spent last
Sunday at Aumsville.

week. She is one of the teachers.

The sore throat trouble going around

The Kpworth League of this eity has
sent out invitations for a Hallowe'en
party. Jt is expected it will jirove one
of the most interesting affairs in the
social Hue of the season.
The two young sons of W. J. Hewitt
are ill at their home here.
Relatives here of Dr. Brewer of Sa
lem who passed away recently have re
ceived many expressions of sympathy.
Dr. .Brewer was well known in Stay
ton and much respected.

The horse traders, who have been
