Ralph Albert Hlakeblock, the famous artist who has been confined in the state asy lum here ever since he weut insane over the poverty of his family 17 years ago, is goue today to a private sani tarium , at l.y nn wood Lodge, .. J., where his returning faculties are ex pected to become completely normal. It was not until many years after he came to the asylum here that Hlnkelock was elected to membership in the Na tional Academy. When he lost '.lis mind he had been selling what he could of hib now world famous and extreinely valuable moonlight scenes tor scarrely er.ough to buy food for a few days. About a year ago Blakelock showed signs of returniug sanity and unmistak able evidences of the return of clouded genius. His fellow American artists started a fund to provide for him at a private sanitarium, with a cottage in w hich he will paint the picture marking his election to the academy.
