"It will aid in many material ways. The ad vantage commercially is readily appar ent and the good that will accrue from the increased understanding between the nations should bo equally apparent. It is a splendid tiling and both parties to the new arrangements are to be con gratulated on their enterprise.!' Senator William J. "The benefit that will result from the establishment of such a news serv ice is readily apparent," said Senator Stone. "It will bring the' democracies of the two countries in close touch. We have been hampered in our efforts to become acquainted with one another by the lack oS current information regard ing one another. J THE MARKETS J The following prices for fruits and vegetables are those asked by the wholesaler of the retailer, at.d not what is paid to tho producer. All other p.'ices are those paid the producer. . Corrections are mado daily. Wheat is ngw quoted at 93 cents and the bakers of the larger cities in the east are talking of making a loaf of bread cost 10 cents. Com is practically out of the mar ket and quotations are withdrawn. Same with old onts. New oats prices are rather uncertain but the quotation of 35 cents is given. The predic tion of $7.50 a box for lemons has come true as the price touched that notch today. A few months ago they were $4 a box. Several kinds of hard wheat flour are on the markt, but grocers today sav the run is between $1.65 to $1.N0.
