Asks That Colonel
Be Court-Martialed
. Boise, Idaho,: July. 6.: Governor
Alexander has asked President Wilson
to court-martial Colonel William H.
Edelblute, and Majors Harry T. Lewis,'
Clement Wilking and DoWitt C. Olson
on charges of conspiracy 'and insub
ordination, it was reliably stated to
day. Immediately after this report leaked
nut, the officers of the Second Idaho
rregiment held a' conference in an ef
fort to adjust the political differences
which nre keeping the troops from en
training for the Mexican border.
The alleged conspiracy is the result
of the institution of the proceedings tn
the state supreme court to prevent the
mustering in of V. U, Crow, former
adjutant general, as lieutenant colonel
of the regiment. The suit was based
on an Idaho statute providing for the
promotion of officers in tho national
guard in cases of vacancies. Under
this law it was. alleged Major Lewis
was entitled to the office of lieutenant
colonel. The suit was brought just be
fore the officers were mustered into
federal service. An injunction pro
hibiting Lieutenant Max Garber from
mustering in Crow was demanded.

Galveston, Texas, July 5. Rumors of

Meat Prices Certain
To Be Much Higher
Washington, July 5. Meat prices in
the United States will continue climb
ing temporarily at least, the United
.States department of agriculture de
clared today. An exhaustive world
study of meat conditions has resulted
in a report by department experts that
the meat supply everywhere is not
keeping up with the demand.
The United Slates, the report shows,
has become an importing country for
all meats except pork although other
meats are exported, they aro imported
in greater quantities.
