About the only changes in today's
market is in the weakness of pork.
Ten cents is the highest lor pork
dressed, and eight cents for pork on
the hoof. Spring lambs are weak at
li 1-2 cents and 0 1-2 cents is top for
steers.

Mrs. Ida S. Baker has just received
a letter from a brother in Illinois. He
writes that it is cold and wet and that
the prospects for corn are not very
good although other crops look fine.
Thus it would seem that the unfavor
able weather 'is not confined to Ore
gon. -
John Clark has returned from a moro
or less extended trip through parts of
the Pacific Northwest. John has added
20 pounds to his weight and has seen
several kinds of landscape but he is
glud to.be back again.
.Mr. and Airs. Jud Palmer and Mrs.
S. B. Clark were Sundav visitors at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Baker.
They motored over from Dallas . in
their new Ford. Mr. Palmer is cm-
plyed in a sawmill in Dallas.
. The Oeer baseball team played Cen
tral Howell at Selah Springs Sunday.
It was a good game as indicated by
the score which was 4 to 3 in favor of
Central Howell.
Oeer crossed bats with West Salem
on the West Salem field Tuesday. At
the end of the fifth inning the" score
was 2 to 0 in favor of ( leer. Mike Bat
talion, the south paw pitcher for (leer,
had the West Salem lads going south
for awhile. But the (iccr nine could
not stand prosperity. They got excited
in the latter part of the gamo and the
final score was 1!) to 5 in . favor of
West Salem,

James Murphy was in town Monday

Mr. Pete Williamson has a new Ford

run it for fear of getting ditched so
his daughter. Hilda, runs it, but we
think Mr. Williamson will change his
mind.
Willie Arnold, who has been employ
ed in "Waldo Hills for several months,
came home Sunday to spend the summer
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin
Arnold.

has been running for several months,
closed Sunday. Muy 20, and the Hust
lers won. A treat was given by the
Rustlers Thursday even'mg at the home
of Rev. und Mrs. E. O. Shepherd. The
evening was passed in playing games
and a short program as follows:
