THE MARKETS
The following prices for fruit
and vegetables are those asked by
the wholesaler cf the retailer, and
not what is paid to the producer.
All other prices 'are those paid the
producer. Corrections are made
daily.
After holding up for a price of !)
to 10 cents for swcrnl months, roosters
may be said to be on the decline as the
present market conditions justify only
a price of 8 cents a pound.
Hogs are off today and spring lamW
are bringing only 7 1-2 cents. In the
vegetable '.line, the changes include a
reduced price for cabbage, and the same
may be said of carrots by the dozen.
New carrots are selling for $1.70 a sack
and Valencia oranges for $3.50 a box.
