the same good smoke
Why?
Because, as nearly as mind
and hands can do it, we make
each OWL just like every other
OWL in blend and burning
qualities.
"If you like one OWL, you'll
like them all. " We can say that
with certainty because the flavor
and even-burning of the OWL
are insured by a million dollars'
worth of selected, carefully mel
lowed leaf.

BIG WAREHOUSE AT DALLAS
The County Farmers' Union, com
prising 10 local branches, have decided
to enter its shipping activities in Dal
las, and will forthwith erect a commo
dious warehouse on a site now being
negotiated for by a committee appoint
ed for thnt purpose. The tentative plans
provide for a building 40x80 feet, but
there has been so much interest mani
fested from, unexpected sources that it
is probable 'that before final arrange
ments nre. consummated a structure of
greater proportions will be reared. At
a session of the county organization
in this city last Saturday it. was de
termined to foster, promote and en
eournge a central warehouse at this
point, and subscriptions to stock is
now being taken from among mem
bers of the several locals. Orchard
View and Mt. Pisgah locals, the only
two before whom the matter has been
officially presented thus far, have -subscribed
approximately $800 to the fund,
which is estimated at $2,500. Others
will consider the matter without un
necessary delay, and in all probability
the warehouse will be in operation in
nbundnnt time to receive crops this
fall.
The purpose of the -warehouse,
which will serve eight locals immedi
ately tributary to Dallas, is to assem
ble products of the farm, grade and
standardize them, nud otherwise pre
pare them for shipment in carload
lots. In brief, it will be the center
of a co-operative shipping movement
now well under way in Polk county,
and will afford those interested in the
undertaking opportunity to combine
their products for, shipment with the
best financial results. Dallas Ob

yesterday in the annual dual meet by a
score of 79 1-2 to 51 1-2.
The Pacific coast intercollegiate
record for the mile run went by the
boards when Clyde, the Washington
captain, negotiated the distance in the
fast time of 4 minutes 19 4-5 seconds,
bettering his own former record hy 3-5
of a second.' All three men finished
in former record time, Coleman of the
Aggies covering the distance in 4 min
utes, 20 4-5 seconds for third place,. . -
One of the most exciting races of
the day was the two-mile, in which

Washington proved themselves
strongest in track events, taking all
three places in the century, but could
not mutch up with the Orange and
Black athletes in the field events.
Kadderly, the Aggie captain, staked
a come back in the 220, defeating Sten
strom in near record time. Damon was
high point winner of the meet, taking
two firsts, a second and a third for a
total ot n points. Kadderly placed
second, adding 13 points to the O. A. C.
score.
The relay was forfeited by the
Washington runners because of the
large scoro already run up before that
event.
