PREACHERS GET BOOZE Oregon's prohibition law is certainly a "onch" to hnve on the statute book." judging from reports being published iu the various newspapers over the state, which give the shipments of "booz"'' during the months of so-called prohibi tion the increase in March was nearly double. In Multnomah county March lubipments aggregated over 10,1100, und in Polk county the .March shipments wore about us much ns Die two previous months combined. .A rather startling disclosure wns ninde in Benton county according to figures found in the county clerk's office in that county. Tlie preachers received during the month of March 47 (piarts of wine for sacramental pur puses, which prompts the comment that the stile fur thiw purpose had better also be regulated by some agreement, ns more wine was obtnincd in the city of Corvallis than the hut of the county combined. I I The "preachers" must be the favor led ones in that county, or there mft more communicants at the altur rail. r...i... 1 1 tVUl III IUU 1IUI lllllll '" lUM'HH 1 -.i i , i . j.1 .1 1. worm nui not i ivao AiiiHworm, son or mi ufrcttM-u, ln ''- - . ., - '"" IT. morning returning w ith bo,1' npuduy afternoon.
