Hi IT Tf TT O

and then decide for yourself, by coming to the Chicago Store and investigating these specials,
I have made for tomorrow's selling. You khow me by this time, and you know that what I
say is law and gospel, and comes right from the bottom of my heart. I don't want you to come
to the Chicago Store and go away and say you were dissapointed. I am here to satisfy you,
and when I put a price in this paper; I give it to you, as plaia and distinct as printers'
ink can possibly do it. And my conscience is perfectly clear, after your evening paper reaches
your home, regardless of whether I am giving goods away at ridicolus prices. I am only obeying
orders, and Selling goods at REAL SALE PRICES.
I SAY-WHAT'S THE USE
of advertising, and telling the
public, you are cutting prices, S
unless you can deliver the goods
and stand back of vour adver
tising. .
NO BEATING AROUND
the bush with me. All clerks
are instructed to sell goods as I
advertise them; ask any of them
about it.

Polk County People
Want Much Road York
At the March meeting of the Toll;
county court, adjourned on Friday,
several districts iu widely separated
parts of the county nsked the court
to pursue road development and con
struction work or to assist the dis
tricts in paying for the work that is
needed to maki; the ruiids fit for travel.
Tlio residents of the Mistletoe dis
Irict, south of Dallas, presented a
petition signed by practically all the
property owners there, in addition to
a large number of Dallas business
men, asking the court to appropriate
an amount equal to that guaranteed
by the petition for the purpose of
grading and graveling the Samuel's
hill. This hill has long been an ob
struction to raffic, ti ml the progres
sive fanners of the community wish
to have it done away with. Their
petition represented u. large amount
of money and labor that will be do
nated for the work at hand if the
court will contribute a like amount.
The commissioners are to investigate
conditions at once, and it is probable
that they will report favorably upon
the plan.
Farmers from tin flrainl Ttondo
neighborhood presented a, petition ask
ing for the appropriation of an
amount of money eipial to the irlntl
to be expended in the improvement
of highways now practically impass
able. The court will investigate. We-t
Salem was represented bv a petition
pledging more than $'100 for roadwork,
j subject to a. like appropriation from
the court. The road work iu this dis
trict i'S sorely needed by the residents
! n ii i if possible their reipiest for aid
! will be granted. A large delegation
'from the Onkdale district waited up
jon the court with a reipiest that it au
thorize, improvement nn the roads of
that section. The Oakdale district is
hampered in many ways at present.
The pnstot tice di pni t incut w ill not put
the residents there on n rural mail
route because of the condition of the
roads, and it is with this, among oth
er things, in mind that the drstiicf is
anxious to have the county do in
road work. During the wet winter
.months it. is extremely difficult to
travel to and from the Oakdale com
munity, ii ii t this presents a hardship
to the people there which they run
ill afford to bear.- Dallas Observer.
J he iiev. .Mr. Wall, vice iuesidenl :
and W. S. McClnin, secretary. On
Friday evening the club will meet ti
perfect the organization and to con

the club during the first year of it i
existence. From the Dallas ('ominer
eiat club President A. I.. .Martin and
Secretary I'. S. I.oughnry will be dele

Independence will have representa
