Want Much Road York
At the March meeting of the Toll;
county court, adjourned on Friday,
several districts iu widely separated
parts of the county nsked the court
to pursue road development and con
struction work or to assist the dis
tricts in paying for the work that is
needed to maki; the ruiids fit for travel.
Tlio residents of the Mistletoe dis
Irict, south of Dallas, presented a
petition signed by practically all the
property owners there, in addition to
a large number of Dallas business
men, asking the court to appropriate
an amount equal to that guaranteed
by the petition for the purpose of
grading and graveling the Samuel's
hill. This hill has long been an ob
struction to raffic, ti ml the progres
sive fanners of the community wish
to have it done away with. Their
petition represented u. large amount
of money and labor that will be do
nated for the work at hand if the
court will contribute a like amount.
The commissioners are to investigate
conditions at once, and it is probable
that they will report favorably upon
the plan.
Farmers from tin flrainl Ttondo
neighborhood presented a, petition ask
ing for the appropriation of an
amount of money eipial to the irlntl
to be expended in the improvement
of highways now practically impass
able. The court will investigate. We-t
Salem was represented bv a petition
pledging more than $'100 for roadwork,
j subject to a. like appropriation from
the court. The road work iu this dis
trict i'S sorely needed by the residents
! n ii i if possible their reipiest for aid
! will be granted. A large delegation
'from the Onkdale district waited up
jon the court with a reipiest that it au
thorize, improvement nn the roads of
that section. The Oakdale district is
hampered in many ways at present.

roads, and it is with this, among oth
er things, in mind that the drstiicf is
anxious to have the county do in
road work. During the wet winter
.months it. is extremely difficult to
travel to and from the Oakdale com

to the people there which they run
