The Montreal Wanderers and the Ot tawa team yesterday telegraphed assur ances that if tiiey won the pennant they would guarintee the expenses of the Portland club on an eastern trip. The Montreal Canadians now leaders of' the league, already had expressed a willing ness to meet the westerners. Should Ottawa win, however, the championship in itch is not so certain. The manager of that club said he would play no where but on natural ice al Ottawa. Tiie Montreal team, however, plays on artificial ice.
