Rtar, GERVAIS SALOONS CLOSE PROMPTLY The four saloons closed in Gervais Inst Friday night, December 31, prompt ly at 12 o'clock midnight. For several days before they all did a big business and had sold out nearly all their liquors before closing. There was quite a large crowd in town Fridny night from outside places nnd although they got rather hilarious, the marshal and his deputies handled them without making nny arrests and the streets were quiet and clear soon after midnight. Goetjen Bros. hov opened up again with near beer and other soft drinks with ft pool room in connection and J. Kingman has done likewise. Mc Ferren in a room in a down town room ing house and locked thorn up in jail on a charge of disorderly conduct. Both appeared before Judge Elgin this morn ing in police court and Were fined t'"S each or la and onc-hulf days in jail. Hendricks who conducts a photograph giillery on'North Commercial street paid tho fines of both parties and they were released from jail tills forenoon. INDICTMENTS DISMISSED. Denver, Colo., Jan. 8. Indictments against John P. White, John H. Law son and other officials of the United Mine Workers were dismissed today by United States District Attorney Ted row. They wore returned in Pueblo in December, 11(13, early in the big Colo rado coal strike. Ted row held they did not full within Ihe scope of the Sherman anti trust law.
