company, beginning tho first of the
year. Heretofore, nino hours has been
tho regulur working time, but on ac
count of tho increase In orders and the
rush for delivery, the mill will begin
running uine and one-half hours after
Janunry 1. This will make the morning
hours from 7 o'clock until noun, and
from 12:43 o'clock until 5:15 in the
evening.
Bridges In U parts of the world will
oe described this evening in a talk nt
the Commercial club by Charles Kvan
Fowler, consulting engineer of Seattle
and Xcw York. The talk will be illus
trated by 120 etereoptlcnn slides, ami
will begin promptly nt S o'clock. Just
at present the bridge proposition is of
special interest to the penplo of 8nlem.
Mr. Fowler will not talk in technical
terms but will describe bridges of dif
ferent types, explaining why such a
type of bridge was built. As every one
is interested in bridges, tho lecture
this evening is open to tho ludics nud
to tho general public.
