Howard Goodfellow is shipping his turkeys to Portland this week. He has about 150, all raised this year. Mr. Goodfellow has rented his farm to a man who recently arrived from the cast. As soon as he gets business matters here in shape Mr. Goodfellow and wifo are planning to take in the exposition and Mrs. Goodfellow expects to extend her trip to include a visit with her mother in Florida. Word has been received from W. L. Cook, who recently moved to Lake county, in which ho says he is well pleased with his new home. Tho chil dren are all in school and he aud the older boys are busily engaged in put ting in the crops. F. L. Woods, a rcnlrfstuto man of Sa lem, was a business visitor in Spring Valley Thursday. THE MARKETS The egg market is" weak and grocers look for lower prices in a few days. One groceryman declared that with the present prices paid in Snlom ho could not ship to Portland, and the supply now wns more than he could handle in his retnil business. Within a day or two he expected to be obligod to offer two cents less than today's market. Live turkelys are quoted at 15 and 10 cents and dressed at 18 and 10 cents, for prime stock.
