STAGE IS ALL SET FOR
BIG FOOTBALL GAMES
University of California, Nov. 5.
The stage is all set for the big football
drama on California field tomorrow
when California will meet the unbeaten
eleven representing the University of
Washington. Given scarcely a look in
by the dopesters, the Bears are pinning
their hopes on holding tho northwest
champions down to a Tow score.
While the California eleven spent the
day in trying to get away from every
thing savoring of football in order to
lie in prime spirits for the game tomor
row, Coach Debit) put his men through
a light workout to acquaint them wilh,
tho California field. He was doubtful
as to the effect of the turf on the play
ing of his charges, and held practice
behind closed gates.
California rooters were somewhat dis
mayed today when Dobie gave out the
information that the Washington eleven
will not rely upon straight football but
will use the aerinl attack considerably,
California is exceptionally weak in de
fensive against tho forward pass.

Bozdek'g footballers from the Univer

fornia today.
After thoy had automobiled to the
Hollenbock hotel, the broad shouldered
brigade breezed out to Bovard field and
ran through somo simple signals on the
soil whore they confidently expect to
annihilate the University of Southern
California tomorrow.
Coach Glssie, in baseball pants, wear
ing one white nock and one scarlet,
thought often of Oregon while giving
his own men a final light workout just
before the invaders took the field. He
pointed to three youths fumbling for
wnrd passes.

New York, Nov. 5. Peace between

of its wings can be heard, if the change
in the attitude of major league mag

The feeling that the constant wrang

believed to be coming general among
the mngnates of the National league.
Humors of pence have been constant,
but this is the first time that any of
the organized baseball magnates have
confessed that peace would be sweet.
The Federals have been willing to make

This vital question will be discussed
by Rev. Tischer, nt the Unitarian
church, Sunday morning. Tho world
has known a liumbor of religions, which
have each evolved great literatures and
many and varied forms, systems and
methods of oalvntion. The religion of
Jesus (essential Christianity) stands
out prominently for its natural reason
silliness and simplicity, Institutional
ized Christianity has made vicarious
substitution and magical intercession
the basis of salvation. Was this the
method of Jesus? Henco the question:
"How does Jesus save?" "Military

The Stock Market
Trended Downward
(Copyright 1915 by the New York
Evening Post.)
New York. Nov. 5. The active specu
lation in large number of stocks today
showed that the interest in the market
is as keen as at any time since the up
ward movement Btarted. But a down
ward movement, with a number of is
sues falling from one to three points
from the closing yesterday, showed
that sentiment was not so tnorongniy
in favor of a rise as recently. Not only
were stocks, but railway shares and
miscellaneous specialties were offered
on a scale which more than matched the
demand; after the first hour declines
ruled the general list.
Selling came from various sources.
Some was attributed to London and the
continent but more to profit taking
from speculators whose operations show
large profits and still more to proies

Eat Less Meat and Take Salts
For Backache or Bladder
Trouble Neutralizes
Acids
Uric acid in meat excitos the kidneys,
they become overworked; get sluggish,
ache, and feel like lumps of lend. The
urine becomes cloudy; the bladder is ir
ritated, and you may be obliged to
seek relief two or three times during
the night. When the kidneys clog you
must help them flush off the body's
urinous waste or you'll be a real sick
person shortly. At first you feel a
dull misery in the kidney region, you
suffer from backache, sick headache,
diziness, stomach gets sour, tongue
coated and you feel rheumatic twinges
when the weather is bad.
Eat less meat, drink lots of water;
also get from any pharmacist four
ounces of Jad Baits; take a tablespoon-
fill in n glass of water before break
fast for a few days and your kidneys
will then act fine. This famous salts
is made from the acid of grapes and
lemon juice, combined with lithin, and
has been used for generations to clean
clogged kidneys and stimulate them to
normal activity, also to neutralize the
acids in urine, so it no longer is a source
of irritation, thus ending bladdor
weakness.
Jad Halts is inexpensive, cannot in
jure; mnkes a delightful effervescent
lithia-wnter drink which everyone
should take now and then to keop the
kidneys clean and active. Druggists
here say they sell lota of Jad Salts to
folks who believe in overcoming kiu
ney trouble while it is only trouble.
