THE MARKETS The bears are still on top of the I wheat market, and the price today paid by tlio mills is from 75 to 77 cents. Portland is off several cents today, and I this of course pilshod the local figures' down. Thero is a general depression' in j wheat prices in nil the big wheat cen-; tors of the country. Oats today aro! quoted at from 32 to 35 cents. This ! prico also is rather uncertain. One , warehouse man claimed today to have TefuBed a Portland price equivalent to 38 cents for sacked onts. Other deal ers say 32 cents is a high price. With j this uncertainty in the market, tlio j farmer who haB grain' to sell is up against an tlnccrtainty on all sides. One man's opinion is ns good as another,! and many commission men arc afraid to buy on a falling market. Tho egg proposition is also unsettled. Some are paying 23 cents cash, and others claim they con buy all they heed for 20 cents cash. Retail prices are from 25 to 30 eertst. To the average farmer this grading proposition doesn't look very good. atttniH. Hay, timothy, . per . tn1' ... $1112 u, veicn Cheat Wheat, new crop Oats, new crop . . Rolled barley . . .
