Judge Bushay decided yesterday aft ernoon, after a hearing in the matter that a guardian should be appointed for the estate of 8. T. Northcutt, of Turner, but he has not been named yet. The guardian will have the care of Mr. Northcutt's estate ender the direction of the eounty clerk but will have no control over Mr. Northcutt personally. The case attracted considerable' atten tion on account of the declared inten tion of Mr. Northcutt to marry Mrs. Louise Francis, of near Salem, and the declaration of Airs. Eva Palmertcm, the daughter ot Mr. Northcutt, that Mrs. Francis was scheming to gain control of Air. The holi day gifts brought here from the United States by the American Christmas ship Jason were be ing distributed today to Eng lish .and Belgian war orphans. All day long streams of children passed the distribution point, receiving presents of toys, cakeB, candy and in many cases clothing. There were few manifestations of joy, how ever.
