Duroc Jersey Sows Purchased by Oregon Agricultural CoHegs rrtm J. "W. Frull of Brooks, Oregon.
TT PAYS to buy good stock, whether sheep, cattle, goats or hogs.
We note that the Oregon
Agricultural College has bought some fine Duroc Jersey Sows. Farmers may differ as to
the breeds of hogs to raise, and it is not our purpose to advocate buying any particular
breed. That is a matter for each individual to decide. But we are strong for the hog-raising on
the farm. Let every farmer raise some hogs and turn off meat for the market and for his own
use every year. If the farmers of Oregon, Washington and Idaho raised enough hogs for the
consumption of these three states, they would have in their own bank accounts the millions
of dollars that now go to the farmers of the Mid He West.
