CHIEF Or POLICE COLLAPSES.
Tacoma, Wash., July 24. Chief of
Police A. P. Loomis was reported as
somewhat Improved today, following hu
collapse from heart trouble at the base
ball park yesterday afternoon. Ilia
physician says the chief's condition Is
not alarming, but . that he must avoid
excitement iu future.
It was at a time when the Tigers ap
peared to be going ' to pieces that
Looniis, who had been rooting vigorous
ly, suffered the seizure. When Bender
dropped a fly hall, Loomis sank back
into his seat with a groan, lapsing into
unconsciousness. He was removed to
his homo after receiving medical atten
tion at the ball grounds.
