a movement is on foot here today to
organize a union of lady barbers, with
a wide berth if a measure proposed by
tho social service board today is passed
by the city. council. The board's bill
would make it a misdemeanor to depict
crime on the stage or movio screen.
It will cost Brutus 30 days in jail or
a $100 fine every time he stabs Cae
sar, and the same will apply to Mary
l'ickford if she takes a potshot at the
man who spurns her. The measure will
be presented to fhe council nt an early
date. There is a clause in the bill that
will prevent moving picture theaters
and other indoor amusement places
from opening on Sunday beforo 1 p. m.
The object of the clause is to remove
competition with the Sunday schools
and morning church services.

Chicago, Milwaukee and St. l'aul rail
way station at North l'uyallup at mid
night and Tobbed Night Operator Chad
derdon of a small sum of money. Chad
derdon was alone in the building when
the robber, masked nnd armed with a
big revolver, made his appearance and
ordered the operator to turn over what
money he had on his person. He then
broke open the cash drawer, but this
yielded only a few dollars. Then the
bandit disapenred.
