Baltimore & Ohio; the Chicago, Burling
ton & Quincy; the Missouri Pacifio; the

er ronds, on the question of coal rates
to St. Louis was resumed here today at
the federal building before Interstate
Commerce Commissioner James B. Har
lan. The whole fight centers around a
20-cent arbitrary toll rate on all coal
crossing the railroad bridges into St.
Louis from East St. Louis. It is possi
ble that the commisisoner may also
further consider the request of the
North Springfield minos for a. 15-cent
cut under "Egypt," based on the al
leged c,lass relation of the railroads and
the Southern Illinois coal companies.
