San Francisco, June 21. Owen Conn,
the 100,00n St. Francis hotel burglar,
who confessed to several dozen burglar
ies in towns about San Francisco bay,
as sentenced today by Judge Dunne to
serve ten years in the state penitentiary
at San Quentin.
Conn, who was caught after a chase
during which h was shot by the police,
pleaded guilty. Mrs. Catherine Pope,
whom the police said was Owen's c
complice here, was brought from Pe
troit to testify against the prisoner.
She was held for a time on a charge of
withholding knowledge of Conn's ac
tions from the authorities, but recently
the case was dropped, but on Conn's
plea of guilty the woman waa released.
