NEW CONCRETE BRIDGE

A new steel and concrete bridge to
eost in the neighborhood of $10,000
will be constructed over Mill ereok, on
North Commercial street by the Port
land, Eugene & Eastern Company, the
work to begin probably June 15.
The railway company has mado a
large fill on hoth sides Of the creok,
and the bridge portion of the creek
crossing to be built will not be of any
great length, as it will serve the pur
pose of 'a span over the small stretch
of water.
The present bridge or trestle has
been an eyosore to the public for sev
eral yearn, and the improvements which
are being mado by tho company in
that end of town are surely needed. A.

company, will superintend the work
Tho bridge material, which will consist
of steel, cement and gravel, has al
ready been ordered, and it will require
about two wooks to finish job.
