P.ailey owe their lives today to that peculiar trick or fortune called luck. On Saturday, according to a com plaint, sworn to by Mr. Ilalley, the three boys discharged several volleys of shotgun and rifle fire into his house near Seneca landing. No members of bis family happened to bo home at the time, and more peculiarly, none of the bullets embedded themselves In the li'i'ge quantity of dynamite which was stored In the building. Assey Nolde, aged 17 years, and Her bert Gorl, aged 14 years, were arrest ed today. Charles Gorl, brother of Herbert, aged 20, is being sought. Engineer Kberhard was pres ent in behalf of tho Polk County Court and gave considerable Information as to tho condition of the bridge, stating as his opinion that the small span at the west approach Is In a dangerous ccndltion. Nothing definite was done to replace It but the opinion Is given cut by members of the committee that something will be done immediately to remedy this defect, as the bridge Is dangerous. The cost of a span nt this point will reach $S000, which will in clude a new pier.
