The 40 hours' devotion services at
the Catholic church, which begun yes
terday morning at 10:30 o'clock, will

Friday night the high school was
the scene of a very pleasant gather
ing in the shape of an Informal recep
tion by the city superintendent and
principal of the high school to the
board of education and teachers. The
entire board was present, as were ex
memhers, Epley and Moores. A quar
tet, consisting of Mesdames Wheelock,
Hinges nnd Babcock and Miss Buah
nell, rendered two songs thnt were
very much appreciated Miss Kuntz
rendered a piano! solo with rare
technique and ability, while the high
school orchestra, which Is a new fea
ture this yenc, rendered a number of
splendid selections. Punch was served
by the girls of the high school.
