One was against the property owners on Union street, from Front street west to the Willam ette river. The railroad company seeks to ascertain by condemnation proceed ings the amount of damages done this property by reason of the elevation of the railroad grade to a height of 4.23 foot at the east hank of the river, and the slope by a two per cent grade from there to Front street. Some time ago this company sought the raising of the grade at this point, nnd It was thought thut the company would set tle with the property owners for the extent of the damages done. It seems as though no settlement could be af fected, hence the bringing of this Buy.
