Jen nings on the charge of fraud, govern men! officials assert that one of the greatest frauds In the history of British Columbia In recent years has teen unearthed. Holders of approx imately $200,000 worth of shares of stock In the Hudson Bay Mutual Fire Insurance believe they have been victimized. other men, organized that Insurance company with, a capital stock of $100,000, and that over $200,000 worth of stock was sold. The company adopted a name close ly resembling another Insurance company whose stanllng In Vancouv. er Is high, and the prosecutor's office Is of the opinion that many persons purchased stock under the Impression that they were Investing In the older company. Following a severe questioning the woman admited that she was well ac quainted with Chisholm prior to her marriage to Powell and frankly con fessed that she was friendly with Chisholm for a long time after her marriage. She stated that she left Chisholm six months ago when he became too friendly with another woman by the name of "Blanche." Mrs. Powell de nied, however, that she knew that Chisholm had gone to Fort Ross with her husband, but when questioned as to the probable motive for the mur der she replied: "Well, it mleht h i by Jealousy."
