Fields, an expert mining engineer, has filed suit for divorce because he alleges his wife told persons outside the family circle about his business. GOOD ROADS BILLS LICKED INTO SHAPE The Mariner bill (H. Fl. 23) is on the desk with a favorable report. Puts State Engineer in place of State Highway commission. The (iill county bonding bill was put through committee of the whole and amended. Engrossed. Senate bill 42 (State Highway Com mission) was amended so as to put under county court control of a" ex penditures. Engrossed. Senate bill 76 was considered in committee of the whole and adversely reported. Engrossed. This is the Barrett county bunding bill, and conflicts with dill bill. Laid on table. , ! . H. I!. 40, one of Cood Roads Asso ciation bills, for county bonds. Amended nnd reported favorably. Ordered engrossed. II. H. 40 was ordered engrossed and to third reading. . , H. D. 47, providing for distribution of $080,000 to counties for state high ways, reduced to $340,000. Engrossed. The amount to each county was re duced from $10,000 to $.".0O0, and the date put one year ahead from 1912 to 1913. If. B. 2S7, the bill appropriating the money In accordance with the above was changed to harmonize with H. B. 47. The Good Roads bills were made a special order for Saturday at ten o'clock. The report of the disposition of these bills will appear In this paper. The vote on substituting II. B. 230 for S. B. 42, was a tie and was de cided lost by the speaker. These road bills have had a great deal of hard work put on them and anyone of them that Is enacted will be found progressive measures. There has been a custom In the past of enacting road laws taken bodily from other states. That system has applied especially to enacting road laws enacted over and vetoed. Web ster's bills came in with minority and majority reports. The Mariner bill (H. B. 230,) and the Gill bonding act, (H. B. 224,) had'the right of way and the rest were only played with. There were threats' of retaliation, and efforts were made to drag Governor West In to the game, but without avail. He is remaining absolutely neutral, and praying for some good laws under which roads can be constructed. The House sat las't night until after six and Speaker Rusk cracked his whip, and drove the work through until the desk was cleared. Resolutions.
