January 21, marks an epoch in tli'- further development of the Capital City of Oregon. Saturday afternoon the finishing touches were put to the grrat Estey organ that bas been in course of erection for the last few 'lays at the Wexford theater on Court street. This beauti ful pipe orfian has cost $4,000 laid down in Salem. It ia the most ex pensive "i!pe"orgnn In the Willam ette valley outside of Portland. This "Estey" organ Is the largest yet In stalled In any one moving picture house In the vhole of the United States. New York has one with only eight stops Salem has one today nith 14 stops. The organ builders lave for the first time Incorporated a patent, not hitherto Installed, this consists of a flute stop, Its perfection of reproduction Is an additional charm to the world-famous Estey. Mr, George Rosner, the ever In creasing popular manager of the Wexford Is responsible for the great treat that is now In store for the mu sic loving people of Salem. His de termination to secure a pleasant sur prise for amusement loving citizens has been consummated, a surprise that can not be eclipsed In its par ticular line of appreciation. Seen last evening by the Journal scribe, Mr. Rosner stated: "I have Indeed been encouraged by the response giv en me by the people of Salem, the in creasing attendance testifying as to their appreciation. Concerning the Estey organ, I would like . to state that owlrg to the size of the Wex ford, I had to condense the organ In length, so that the seating capacity would not be Interfered with. I there fore gave my order for the Estey to te more in depth than length. I will use the organ purely for the lieavy drama. Vocal selection will te accentuated by the new flute stop and a very beautiful effect obtained." Commencing with today, Mr. Ros ter"'Stated tliaFh'e "would have" three different Bets of songs, representing, me, modern ballads; two, old time longs; and three, comic, etc., all of them to be suitably accompanied by the organ.
