purpose of building the fastest mo
tor boat on the Pacific coast or In
tho United States, Tho Oregon
Speedboat company, the members of
which aro local sportsmen, has just
beon organized. The compnny will
bo Incorporated. Articles of Incor
poration are on file today with the
secretary of state.
Tho company expects to let a con
tract, soon for tho construction of
tho spood boat, it will cost approx
imately $10,000, the timount of tho
capital stock, if possible tho com
pany will havo the boat constructed
by so in o Pacific coast shipbuilding
firm.
Tho stock of the corporation will

situation became more interesting
when Charles Yannke jumped Into
the running on tho Democratic ticket,
and now It appears there is to be a
fourth candidate In tho porson. of H
A Rnwson, another guard at tho pen
itentiary, who looms up on tho in
dopndent horizon. Mr. Rawson has
not made formal announcement of
his candidacy as yet, but ho Is being
urged by his friends, and has the
matter under serious consideration.
He has seen many years of sorvice of
tho state, tho past eight or ten years
of which he has occupied tho most
responsible post at the penitentiary,
and Is well known throughout the
city, and will doubtless prove a for
midable candidate.

misrepresented facts, when ho de
clared that the decision In the Knight
case preventtd the successful prose

that there was any Intention to re
strain trade," Earle says. "Tho
court's finding did not deface the law,
and bound no one in future cases."
