8ays Ho Was Over-charged
W. R. Loughmlller, of SUverton,
today complalnod to tho Oregon Rail
road Commission that ho had been
over-charged by the Southern Pa
clfio Railroad company in tho ship
ment of somo brick. Tho amount of
brick shipped, ho states, was 40,000
pounds and that upon which he was
made to pay freight 50,000 pounds.
Registration Is Slow
While tho registration books havo
boon open for two weeks by tho
county clerk the registration has
been remarkably slow but 400
registering from the whole oounty.
There is a marked Increase this
week, however, over the first, and it
is betievttd that as the election ap
proaches the registration wilt ln

Cannon denied that he had over
smothered legislation.

aro marching overland today from
Hermoslllo to Cananea, where 75
armed Mexicans were arrested
Thursday night. Rifles and a quan
tity of ammunition wre seized. Five
hundred troops aro already In Can
anea but It Is believed moro are need
ed to prevent an outbreak against tho
government.
A special dispatch received hero
quotes a man opposed to President
Diaz as saying:
"Genoral Torres had better keep
his troops at Hermoslllo, because ho
will need them there. Yucatan is
not tho only place whore Diaz will
need troops."

Seattle, Wash., June 18. The
first shipment of Alaskan gold,
