Tho oxtonsion of tho Orogon Electric railway to Woodburn
Is anothor stop towards making Salem tho center of things,
The railroad to Falls City connects this city with a very
rich country towards the coast mountains and big timber.
Tho Orogon Electric will cojinoct Salem via Woodburn with
tho heart of French Prairie and tho rich country boyond,
It will bring new life into our relations with Mt, Angel,
Monitor Mills, Silverton and Scotts Mills, and boyond .
Salem should hail with Joy tho proposition of Mr, Welch to
build towards Stayton and Jefferson and Albany and beyond,
Mr, Welch has been dolayed and had difficulties In raising
monoy, and so have others in trying to get capital for rail
rsads. . .
Salem should now push for a bridge to lot tlie Falls City
and Western into tills city, and push it across to Silvcrton
direct.
