gold under tho bed in tho dead man's
house. The money, which was packed
In cans that showed signs of having
been recently dun from tho ground,
was in coins of $20, $10, and $5 de
nomination. It was brought to Jlllla
boro this morning and deposited with
tho county trtmsuror.
Tho monoy was found by Jurors
who were looulng over thp house Inst
night after the coroner und sheriff

the mountain since Tuesday, walked
Into McCloud last night.
Mauer said that after leaving his
companions he lost his way whllo tit
tempting to return to camp. Since,
then he has been wandering through
the snows and brush on tho mountain
endeavoring to find his way back to
civilization.
Thirty men who have boon search
ing for Mauer are encamped on the
mountain today.
