This carnival in honor of the cherry industry has very
worthily been celebrated by the people of Salem and sur
rounding country, '
Without the fruit growers Salem could never be called the
Cherry City of the World. ,,'!,
Without the enterprise of the business men of Salem the
cherry Industry wou d not be advertised,
The basis of tho cherry Industry lies in the wonderful soil
of the Willamette valley plus the climate.,
The far-seeing pioneers brought the fruit industry with
them and established it here firmly and forever,
The development of the industry is due to the commercial
enterprise of the fruit growers and shippers who have made
a market for the Willamette valley cherry,
, So let us give credit where it belongs and all unitedly
pull together for still greater results,
The Cherry Fair is a time of midsummer reunions, visit
ings, and a general good time the home-coming time of
thousands who make their annual visit at Salem,
