Modern Woodmen of America In 811
vorton last Saturday was conceded to

try. Tho monster crowd was taken
caro ofln an orderly and comfortable
mannor, and all scorned to enjoy

Tho parade was several blocks long
and started from tho depot and wont
through tho city to tho picnic
grounds, which aro a beautiful grove
a short distance from Sllvorton. Tho
long procc'iston was well planned,
and the decorations were beautiful,
there being 10 floats, each bearing
queen. Aflor the parade had reached
mo plcnlo ground, mayor ot Silver
ton, L. Itauch, delivered a fitting ad
dress of welcome, and the drill coa
teats . then took place. Teams rep
resenting Balem, Woodburn, Port
land and Sllverton, consisting ot mea
only competing. The Woodburn team
won the silver cud for the men's
drill, and later tho Udlre of Sll
verton captured the women's drill
and silver cup, Woodburn also got
the cup for the nost appropriate and
beet arranged float.
