stato. In 1907, howovor, an unusual
ly largo proportion of tho produc
tion was Bold In tho crudo condi
tion. Tho quantity sold In 190C
was 15,211 short tons, having an nv
orngo value of $2.G5 per ton; in
1907 tho mnrkotod production of
rough or unmanufactured soapstono
was 25538 tons, at nn average price
of $1.3G; so that whllo the quantity
sold exhibited a gain of 10,327 short
tons, or about CO per cont, the total
