" Until recently" many itlndooa have

much of tholr time In town.
Many peoplo noticed' tholr peculiar
mannors. While nil of tho Hindoos

of tho forolgnor3, who wero seen
hero, woro a whito turban, the othors
wearing black or dnrk ones. When

white-topped Hindoo. Whenever ho
would stop, thoy would do Hkowlse,
ii ovor going to his sldo or ahead of
him. It Ib thought that the whito
colored ttubnn was Indicative of
rank, Its woaror bolng held In tho
highest respect by thoso of tho black
turbans nnd Hint tho othors had to
walk behind tho whito turbaned Hin
doo out of respect.
Tn viewing tho rocords at tho
county clerk's ofllco, another pecul
iar thing Is noticed, regarding tho
Hindoos. Tho naturalization book
at that ofllco show that tho surnames
of tho 15 Hindoos, who took out
tholr first papers, nro tho same, bo
lng "Singh." "Bhola Singh," Esor
Singh" and "Son Singh," etc. Tho
forolgnors could not spoak sufllc'ont
English to explain tho reason why
tholr last names are all tho same,
though thov stated that they wore
relatod in no way. .
