shlpping season Is yet two wedks or

day that over 1500 head' of fat
beeves have been shipped tqirof this
city since the first of the month. The
shipping season proper will begin
with tho first week of September,
after which time shipments VIM bo
much larger than during the present

have been made, to Senttle and Ta
coma, FryBrtthn in the former ah'rt
CarsMne Bros. In the latter city be
ing the chief buyers. Eight car
loads of cattle were shipped to these
companies yesterday from the local
ynrds.
William G. Welch, brand inspector
for this section of the stnto Bald yes
terday that the lurger portion of tho
cattle of Grant, Morrow, Wheeler
and Umntllla counties wero shipped
from the local yards, The Industry
for practically tho entire northeast
ern portion of the state centers In j

Another lot of cattle is' expected
to nrrivo today from the John Day
district. This bunch of over 200
head Is being brought in by Ben Cal
vin, the well-known cattleman of

In addition to these, 3000 havo
been purchased In the Izze country
by Nnto Rnlnei, who Is buying for
the Seattle firm. This lot will be
brought In enrly In September.
The market price at present
