forest service. Tho Dluo Mountain
reserve will also be opened to bands

This action is the result of a de
termined fight which tho sheepmen
pf Umatilla and Morrow counties
have been waging for tho past three
months to got their bands upon tho
summer grazing lands as quickly as
possible It will mean tho saving
of thousands of dollars to tho sheep
owners, as many of the winter
rnnges have long b en In a depleted
condition. This year, the season has
been a month nnd one-half In nd
vnnco of tho usual season, and tho
protracted drought has worked a
great hardship on tho sheep.
Tho Wenaha reserve, which will
bo opened for a certainty on Juno
1. will accommodate sovoral hundred
thousnnd bend of sheep. This ro3ervo
