If You
Are Sick
It is because some of
tho organs o the bo.dy
aro not doing their work
well. There is a lack of
that nervous energy that
gives them motion. Con
sequently you aro weak,
worn-out, nervous, irrit;
able, cannot sleep; have
headache, indigestion, etc.
because there is not suffi
cient nerve force to keep
tho organs active and al
low them to perform their
natural functions. Dr.

health because it restores
this nervous energy,

HAZING
A dispatch from Corvallis laH
night givc3 tho following pnrtlcti-.
lars of tho attempted hazing at the
Agricultural College Friday night
as mentioned In Tho Journal last
night, nnd the slashing of two stu
dents:
A serious cutting affray took
placo on the collogo campus Inst Fri
day night, In whhjh two sopho
mores, John Kelly, of Eugene, and
Rlchnrd Sklbbc, of Tho Dalles, wore
severely wounded. Tho wounds are
deep, but the two young men nro out
of dnnger.
The stabbing was done by Fresh
man Robert Olph, of Prairie City,
Or., one of the now undergraduates,
who was about to bo given a dunk
ing by a largo crowd ot sophomores.
Tho sophomores, about 30 in num
ber, had, by some pretext or anoth
er, lured young Olph, who is a pow
erfully built boy from Grant county,
from his room, nnd pounced on him
at a Bccludcd spot on tho college
grounds. Olph fought hard against
the proposed ducking in a fountain,
which was to constltuto tho first
stop In tho hazing process. Io
shook off first one and then another
of tho upper classmen, but they
closed In on him again. Ho warned
them repeatedly if they did not do
slftt "somebody would got hurt," but
his threat only made tho second-year
mon tho more "determined to curb
tho defiant spirits of ,tho Ind. Kel
ly, Sklbbo and another sophomore
named Weathorford. closed In on
Olph onco more, and a despcratu
fight ensued,
Whllo trying to pinion Olph's arm
to his sides, ho broko away long
enough to draw a sharp pocket
knife, yanked open tho blado and
began plaohing right and loft. Ho
was like a panther, and ouccocriod
In cutting several slashes In Wcath
orford's clothes, though tho latter
was not wounded. Sklbbo nnd Kel
ly wero cut deeply. Their cries of
pain discouraged tho rest of tho haz
ors. Kelly Ih tho more seriously wound
ed of tho two, and will bo in tho hos
pital a couplo of weoks, though ho
is not in danger, according to Drs.
Farra and Pornot, who dressed tho
wounds of tho two) victims,
An soon ns tho faculty heard of
tho attempted hazing and tho subse
quent cutting scrape, Dr. Kerr sAld
ho would probably suspend tho rlng
leadors of tho hazing sophomoros,
and it Is expected that such drastic
action will bo taken that It will
mean tho absoluto abolition of haz
ing at tho Institution.
Tho attempt to lultlato Olph was
tho first affair of that sort attempted
this year, and nowH of It enmo as a
