C. C. Morgan Has to fight For Life
With Big Dcvli Fish
Seized around tho legs by a devil
fish, C. C. Morgan, a camper at Alkl
Point, had to fight for his lifo in tho
wator a hundred feet from Bhoro last
evening.
Port ot tho time tho fight with tho
vicious fish was carried on under

Morgan would "havo lost tho fight
and havo been dragged down. As it
was, his logs wero badly bruised
and lacerated bolow tho knees, and
ho was exhausted when ho reacho.l
safety.
Morgan, who was formerly pro
prietor of a hotel nt the Great North
ern docks, recently sold out and has
slnco camped at Alkl Point. Ho to
a man about six feet two Inches in
height and weighs about 2-10
pouuds. To his size, wolght, and
strength ho owes his life, nccordlng
to his story of tho Btrugglo.
Morgan wns bathing about 0:30
last night. Ho swam out somo 300
foot and thon Btnrted for Bhoro.
When In about five foot of wator

In a moment Morgan was solzed
by both logs bolow tho knoos, nnd

but was dragged under wntor. Dig
ging his fingers Into tho sand, Mor

from pulling him out of his dopth.
Tho AbIj, howovor, was strongor than
ho, and was towing htm Into doop

his strength, ho spread his legs and
broko tho hold.
Desporatoly Morgan struggled to
ward Bhoro and managed to gnln

again reached him. Tho colling ton

powerful struggling Morgan broko
away each tlmo and fought his way
nearer tho shore. As tho wator be
came shallower tho powor of tho

Morgan's wlfo and somo of tho
other campers at tho bench saw Mor

help him. When ho first called for
help thoy thought fio had beon taken

Both logs nro badly swollen, pre

Morgan showed the swoolon wolta
