Whon the special ordor camo up yesterday aftornoon, Vawter's bill creating a board of nlno normal school regents was taken up. The sonato went into a committee of tho wholo and considered the bill a sec tion at a tlmo. Coshow offered an amendment ap propriating $27,000 for the Drain school. Haines and Hodson spoke against it and It was favored by Coshow, Booth and othorB. The amendment was adopted. Bailey offered an amendment which repealed all former legislation and virtually killed all the schools. It was very nearly adopted, receiv ing 13 votes. Kay offered an amendraont that after July 1, 1907, the board limit the schools to two. This was lost SIchel offered on amendment that tho board of regents report to the next session of tbo legislature which two schools should be retained and that it is the sense of this body that two of tho schools should bo abolish od. This was adopted.
